Are there enough parking spaces, and can I reserve a spot?
Parking in Kandersteg is limited, especially on weekends and during the summer. Starting around 11:00 a.m., parking spaces may no longer be available. We therefore recommend arriving early.
Parking spaces at the valley station of Cable car OeschinenseeCable car Oeschinensee available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Hikers heading to Oeschinensee should Oeschinensee the hiking parking lots in the village, which offer lower hiking parking rates.
Parking reservations can only be made through the online ticket shop in combination with a gondola ride and an entry time between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
If you are traveling in a rental car or do not yet know your license plate number at the time of reservation, simply enter 123 as the license plate number. Upon arrival, scan the QR code at the parking meter. The actual license plate number will be automatically recognized and assigned to your reservation.
Entry is limited to vehicles up to 5 m in length and 2 m in height. For taller vehicles, a detour fee will be automatically charged if this restriction is violated. Paid parking lots and parking spaces for larger vehicles are located in the village and near the Schützenhaus. Entry is not permitted at night.
